Starbucks has unveiled a new line of coffee beverages that promises to revolutionize the coffee experience. Introducing Starbucks Oleato, a blend of their signature Arabica coffee infused with a spoonful of Partanna cold-pressed, extra-virgin olive oil. This unexpected combination creates a velvety-smooth and delicately sweet coffee that will uplift your daily coffee ritual with an extraordinary new flavor and texture.
The Oleato coffee platform will be available in select Starbucks stores in Italy starting February 22, followed by Southern California in the United States this spring, and later in Japan, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom. With the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan also debuting a range of five Oleato beverages.
What’s the inspiration behind this new line up? According to Howard Schultz, Starbucks’ interim CEO, it all started with a trip to Milan back in 1983. “I was captivated by the sense of community, connection, and passion for coffee I found in the city’s espresso bars,” he explained. “It was that trip that inspired me to bring the ritual of handcrafted espresso to Starbucks and to America. Oleato represents the next revolution in coffee that brings together an alchemy of nature’s finest ingredients – Starbucks arabica coffee beans and Partanna cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil.”
Starbucks has teamed up with Partanna, an Italian extra virgin olive oil brand with over 100 years of tradition, to create a blend of extra virgin olive oil that perfectly complements Starbucks coffee. The result is a range of three unique beverages: the Oleato Caffè Latte, Oleato Golden Foam Cold Brew, and Oleato Iced Shaken Espresso.
- Oleato Caffè Latte: Starbucks Blonde Espresso Roast, a light roast that is smooth and subtly sweet, is infused with Partanna extra virgin olive oil and steamed with creamy oatmilk to create a velvety smooth, deliciously lush latte.
- Oleato Golden Foam Cold Brew: The aroma of lush Partanna extra virgin olive oil infused cold foam cascades slowly through the dark, smooth cold brew, creating a subtle sweetness in the beverage.
- Oleato Iced Shaken Espresso: This coffee-forward beverage offers layers of flavor sweetened with notes of hazelnuts, rich espresso and creamy oatmilk infused with Partanna extra virgin olive oil.
Customers in select markets will also be able to customize their drinks with a press of Partanna extra virgin olive oil, adding a subtle sweetness and an inviting aroma to their favorite beverages.
The Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan takes things even further with five exclusive beverages: Oleato Caffè Latte, Oleato Iced Cortado, Oleato Golden Foam Cold Brew, Oleato Deconstructed, and Oleato Golden Foam Espresso Martini. Each beverage is infused with Partanna extra virgin olive oil, creating a range of unique and indulgent flavor experiences.
